Floor de Groot's prodigious talent runs in her family. Her grandfather worked as a glassblower,
and her father was an artist who operated a gallery, selling his own hand-painted glassware.
Floor began working with glass at a very young age and realized her childhood dream of studying at the Hadamar Glass Fachschule when she was just 16 years old. At Hadamar Glass Fachschule, Floor mastered the technical aspect of glass art creation, developing her skills in grinding, engraving, sandblasting, as well as the preservation and restoration of stained glass. She has worked with renowned retailers, such as Tiffany & Co., and currently teaches glass art techniques at schools in The Netherlands. Floor also serves as an expert Tiffany's stained-glass restorer for a number of Dutch churches.
